Enrolment Form, Terms & Conditions, 2020
PLEASE NOTE: By making payment to book in for music lessons and/or digitally ticking that you have read the terms and conditions, you agree to the following terms. These terms are not negotiable. Terms are not negotiable and are subject to the discretion of the Music School and is final.
Private Lessons
1. Payment is made in advance in the amount of 10 weeks. If a term is 9 or 11 weeks, fees will be adjusted accordingly.
2. Total amount of fees are due by the 2nd lesson of term. This reserves your lesson time for the duration of your paid lessons *
3. 2 x make up lessons with 24 hours notice is available for full term payments. 1 x make up lesson for 5 week payments. If notice is given on the day of the lesson then of the an online lesson will be offered with the same teacher only at your usual time.
4. Lessons are to be made up within the same term, where available, if possible with the same teacher during their regular teaching times. If this is not possible the lesson will be with a different teacher on a different day and time where available. If there are no times for make up lessons available within the current term, the lessons will be forfeited. Lessons are not transferred to the following term. No refunds are given. The decision is with the music school and is final.
5. If your lesson is rescheduled to an agreed time and then you cannot fulfil that time, the lesson will be forfeited.
6. The lessons will need to be made up where possible within the school term only. No make up lessons are available in the school holidays. All effort will be made to accommodate a make up lesson. It is then up to you to commit to that lesson.
7. If you miss a lesson due to running late or forgetting, your lesson is forfeited. These do not qualify for make up lessons.
8. If you have any arrangements or events including planned holidays, advanced notice has to be given before the term begins. These are regarded as make up lessons. See management if more than 2 lessons are required to make arrangements. The balance of the full term is still due and payment is required as you are reserving a place and time for your lessons.
9. If fees are paid and you change your mind or plans and cancel your lessons during the term, fees will not be refunded.
10. If you have a serious illness or injury which affects your lessons, a deferment can be applied for up to 6 weeks. Lessons will then resume with your teacher or another teacher at an agreed date. Please provide a medical certificate, where possible. Fees will not be refunded even if you are discontinuing. All effort is made to accommodate a make up lesson but they are not guaranteed.
11. If the teacher is sick or away, a replacement teacher will be appointed for your lesson for that day. If a teacher is not available your lesson will be made up on a different day either with the same teacher if available or a different teacher.
12. If a lesson cannot be made up in any way due to the teacher being away then a credit will be given for the following term.
Shared, Groups, Junior Music Program, Choir
1. Payment is made in advance in the amount of 10 weeks. If a term is 9 or 11 weeks, fees will be adjusted accordingly.
2. Total amount of fees are due by the 2nd lesson of term. This reserves your lesson time for the duration of your paid lessons *
3. There are no make ups available as the lessons will continue with the other student(s) unless the lesson is totally occupied by siblings then an agreed time can be made for the make up lessons. Only 2 make ups are available per term. Refer to above info.
4. If you miss a lesson due to running late or forgetting, your lesson is forfeited. These do not qualify for make up lessons.

FAQ
1. Remember when making payment you are reserving your teacher’s time which prevents us from booking another student.
2. Teachers have dedicated their time for your tuition by being available. Please make all efforts to be at your scheduled lesson.
3. When you pay to book in for your lessons we reserve that time for you for the entire term.
4. Our teacher’s time is just as valuable as any other paid employee. It is wrong to not pay our teachers for cancelled lessons.
5. Regular attendance at music lessons is necessary for the students progress. Frequent absences from lessons will affect the student's overall progress. The cost of providing your lessons are the same whether you attend the lessons or not.
COVID-19 rule: If your child is sick and you need to miss attending school, if they have a temperature, headache, cough, sneezing, feeling sick or have flue like symptoms then they are not permitted to attend face to face music lessons. We have a right to cancel your lessons for the day if you show up at the studio. We uphold the safety and health of our teachers, staff, students and families above all else. We have a make up policy that allows for on the day online lessons for late cancellations so you don’t miss out.
Payment methods: cash, credit card, electronic transfer and online. Payable to: The Hills Shire Music School Pty Ltd.
* A non refundable deposit of $74.00 for 2 x 30 min private lessons, $54.00 for 2 x 20 min private lessons, $40.00 for 2 x 15 min private lessons, $50.00 for 2 x shared lessons and $40.00 for 2 x group and Junior Music Program lessons must be paid by the last week of the previous term or lessons will not be offered. This pays for 2 weeks and reserves your lesson time and day. Balance is then due by the 2nd week of the new term. If balance of payment is not paid by week 3, we will advise you that we will stop your lessons in that week until payment is made and a 10% late fee will apply after that. Payments that are 2 weeks overdue by week 4 will be referred to a debt collection agency. If you know that you will have difficulty paying fees please contact us asap.
Please Note: Waiver. It is the responsibility of the student(s) to take care of their own instruments and belongings. The Hills Shire Music School Pty Ltd is not responsible for any loss or damage to any of these items. It is also expected that students will demonstrate acceptable standards of behaviour while attending. Hills Shire Music is not responsible for the conduct of students especially when it may involve the risk or danger to themselves or others. All breakages and damage to property including musical instruments and structures belonging to Hills Shire Music and other student’s property must be paid for. Parents and guardians are responsible for the delivery and pick up of students. This includes any concert, workshops & lesson times unless otherwise arranged. Hills Shire Music is not responsible for supervision outside concert, workshop & lesson times. Please make necessary arrangements for supervision, delivery and pick up. Any behavioural or health issues must be addressed before commencement as Hills Shire Music will not take any responsibility for their actions, conditions or outcomes. Enrolled students, parents and guardians are responsible for their own actions. The Hills Shire Music School Pty Ltd, its teachers and directors will not be held responsible and/or liable for any injury, illness or loss incurred while attending lessons, workshops, rehearsals, performances or any interactions due to these or any actions and/or health conditions and irresponsible behaviour.
Privacy: Please note that Hills Shire Music does not distribute any personal information received to 3rd parties unless required by law or agreed to prior.
Media: By enrolling you agree that any photos and/or recordings that are taken at events such as workshops, concerts, lessons or any other performance can be used by The Hills Shire Music School Pty Ltd for promotional purposes only. Please advise in writing if you do not wish to be included.
